Its our mission to create more sustainable aquariums through our C.A.R.E. initiative. This means every aquarium we design must CONSERVE, ADVOCATE, RESTORE, and EDUCATE. We achieve these objectives in many ways - our systems are designed to have as little impact on the natural environment as possible, we buy and sell animals that are certified to be cautiously collected and handled; we believe that each aquarium tells a story as an advocate of the natural world they represent; we donate a part of our profits to many conservation organizations, which help protect the the wild systems we try to replicate. Through these efforts, and others, we are taking a proactive role in changing the way people feel about aquariums. Quality Hand Selected Fish & Corals
Our fish and corals are the best and we guarantee it! That's right, we are one of the few companies that guarantee our fish and corals. Our customers enjoy the piece-of-mind knowing that all the animals we supply have a guarantee: 10 days for fish and 7 days for corals. We can offer these guarantees because all of our animals are hand selected by specialists from reputable importers and collectors from around the world. Many of our fish and corals are captive grown by mariculture facilities operating in the tropical waters of the South Pacific, which makes these animals a more eco-friendly and sustainable choice for your aquarium when compared to wild caught animals.
In addition to maricultured corals, we also offer sellect aquacultured corals from U.S. growers. These corals, (known as "frags" and short for fragments,) have been cultivated from from other aquarists' private collections. That's right, some corals can literally be cloned by fragmenting or breaking off small pieces from the parent coral. These small frags are then allowed to grow under captive conditions until they are ready for sale. Often frags are prefered over wild corals, because they tend to acclimate better to aquarium conditions and thus have a higher survival rate. Also, most frags are grown from rare and highly prized varieties of corals, which have been selected based on their popularity and relative value to the hobbyist. For these reasons, most frags sell at a premium price, but their value to the hobby makes them well worth the added cost.
